Made by Google 2025: Everything We Know Ahead of the Pixel 10 Launch August 20

Mark your calendars: Google’s next Made by Google hardware event is happening on August 20, live from New York City. The keynote kicks off at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET), and as always, it’ll be streamed on YouTube for everyone not in the room.

This is the second year in a row that Google has moved its hardware showcase to August a notable shift from its traditional October window. The strategy is clear: beat Apple to the punch and grab attention before iPhones dominate the fall news cycle.

Pixel 10 Is the Headliner

The main focus this year? The Pixel 10 series and it looks like Google’s going big. Expect a full lineup: Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, a Pro XL and a new foldable, likely called the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

If the leaks hold true, the foldable won’t be chasing ultra-thin bragging rights like some competitors. Instead, Google seems to be leaning into practical wins: durability, battery life, and tight AI integration. Gemini AI will reportedly be everywhere from camera smarts to productivity features.

Specs-wise, the foldable is rumored to pack a 6.4" external OLED and an 8" foldable OLED on the inside, with brightness up to 3000 nits. Cameras? Expect a familiar triple-lens setup: 48MP main, ultrawide and telephoto, plus front-facing 10MP shooters on both displays. If Google can nail the hinge durability and battery life, this could be a serious contender in the foldable space.

Tensor G5 and Android 16

All Pixel 10 models are expected to debut with Android 16 and Google’s new Tensor G5 chip the first built on TSMC’s 3nm process. That should translate to better power efficiency, AI performance, and thermal management compared to the previous gen.

Android 16 itself is bringing a visual refresh, improved notification handling, and even deeper system-wide AI hooks. If you’re a fan of what Google’s doing with contextual intelligence, this release is going to be a big one.

Pixel Watch 4 and New Buds on Deck

Beyond phones, we’re likely to see the Pixel Watch 4, with rumors pointing to two size options, minor design tweaks, and improved battery life. Internals are expected to get a bump as well, possibly making Wear OS a bit snappier where it still tends to lag.

Audio fans might get a new addition too: a budget-friendly pair of earbuds, potentially called Pixel Buds 2a. If priced right, they could offer a solid alternative to entry-level buds from Samsung or OnePlus especially if they keep the touch controls and spatial audio features.

Introducing “Pixelsnap”?

One of the more intriguing rumors floating around is a new wireless charging system called Pixelsnap. It’s said to magnetically align devices for faster, more reliable charging likely built around the Qi2 standard. Think of it as Google’s answer to Apple’s MagSafe, but potentially with better cross-device compatibility. Accessories like stands and cases may launch alongside.

The Pixel Ecosystem

Since 2016, Google’s Pixel line has evolved from a clean software-first phone into a full-stack ecosystem. Phones, watches, buds, tablets they all aim to play nice together under Google’s design language and AI-first approach. While Pixel still trails Apple and Samsung in raw sales, it’s the go-to brand for Android purists and early adopters who want the latest OS features and AI tools, day one.

With AI becoming the central story in mobile tech, Google is in a unique spot it controls the software, the hardware, and the AI platform (Gemini). If the Pixel 10 series delivers on its promise, this could be the most cohesive and powerful Pixel lineup yet.

We’ll be watching closely on August 20 and will break down all the announcements right here. Stay tuned this one could be big.
